Te Aratoi at PAO PAO PAO 2007
Riki Bennett (Te Arawa, Ngati Porou) and Rewi Spraggon (Ngati Hine) are leading exponents of the ancient art of taonga puoro or traditional Maori music.
Their performance is ethereal and evocative of our stunning natural environment. You’ll hear the call of the birds, the roll of the waves and be transported back to the music of the forest pre-European times.
Trained by the late Dr. Hirini Melbourne, Riki and Rewi share their passion for taonga puoro with audiences and keen students around the country.
