This West Auckland duo are gaining a reputation for entertaining live shows using Dj Kinetic’s tight production as a turntabilist over-laying Infinite Rensta’s poetic rhyme style. Rensta presents indigenous and urban street rhymes both in English and te reo Maori.
Rensta and Kinetic have been involved in the Auckland underground hip-hop scene for the last seven years. Both have been born and raised in West Auckland but they’re of proud Maori descent with strong Northland and East Coast links.
The pair were members of West Auckland hip hop lyricist group Kritical Methods (2001 - 2003) which included 2002 New Zealand emcee battle for Supremacy champion, the Abbot.
Dj Kinetic was ranked in the top eight Auckland Battle Djs at the 2002 Auckland ITF’s. Kinetic's production talents have featured on a variety of New Zealand albums including 4th Elements debut 'Raw Nu Inventions'.
Their career highlights include performing at the New Zealand Hip Hop Summit (2003-2004), Ngapuhi Festival (2007), ASB Polyfest (2007) and the Parihaka International Peace Festival (2008).
Recently Rensta has been performing and collaborating as a vocalist for the Kingnites an Auckland-based conscious roots band. In addition Rensta and Kinetic are currently developing their websites and individual albums due for completion late in 2008.
