Maori music’s taonga, Ngatai Huata’s performances are e-tika! eclectic! emotive!

An original member of the fabulous Black Katz Band, she has trail-blazed kaupapa music in Aotearoa since the early 1980s. A composer, singer, musician, recording artist, Ngatai’s sound is original, unique, indigenous.

Inspired by all genres of music (from Beethoven to Edith Piaf to reggae) Ngatai continues to thrill not just in Aotearoa-New Zealand, but audiences internationally - this year in Australia and Canada.
