A recent choreographic project was creating Pounamu (Greenstone) for The WOMAD Festival (World Music and Dance) in Auckland. It was choreographed for The Auckland Dance Company, and Wellington composer Helen Fisher composed the score. The Dorian Choir conducted by Rita Pacquian sung live for the event, and Richard Nunns and Hirini Melbourne performed traditional Maori instruments to accompany the performance. This project was funded with the support of Te Waka Toi.
Merenia is currently teaching at the Wellington Performing Arts Centre, and she is also working towards a Bachelor of Arts at Victoria University.
A season of contemporary dance entitled 'Wild Civility' premiered in May 2000, in Wellington, and 'Te Mana' premiered in October 2003.
