Kelly Ana Morey

Kelly Ana Morey was born in New Zealand in 1968.

In 2003 her first novel Bloom was published and subsequently won the PEN Hubert Church Award for Best First Work of Fiction in 2004. Morey's second novel Grace is Gone was published in 2004 and was a finalist in the Kiriyami Pacific Rim Fiction Prize the following year.

How To Read a Book, an irreverant childhood memoir, followed in 2005. Her third novel, On An Island, With Consequences Dire, was published in early 2007.

In addition, Morey received the Todd New Writers' Bursary in 2003 and the inaugural Janet Frame Literary Award for Fiction in 2005.

Toi Maori aspires to be the organisation of first choice for all matters relating to contemporary Maori art.
