4 Corners at PAO PAO PAO 2007
4 Corners are one of the few New Zealand hip hop crews that draw on their taha Maori for musical inspiration. Based in Hamilton, the three crew members - Hohepa Morgan (Ngati Maru), Brett Wagner (Pakeha) and Ngakoma Conner (Ngapuhi, Ngati Porou) - have grown up through PAO PAO PAO.
The Hamilton-based crew has enjoyed popular success on the New Zealand Top 40 charts with their singles ‘By My Side’ and ‘On The Downlow’.
This urban group with a Maori edge has toured extensively throughout New Zealand, with artists such as Che Fu, King Kapisi and Scribe. They also toured Australia, Vietnam and Laos earlier this year.
4 Corners have also been nominated this year for the Best Hip Hop Group and Best Hip Hop Album at the Urban Music Awards in Australia and Best Urban/Hip Hop Album at the NZ Music Awards 2007.
