Weavers

I am from Gisborne, now living near Waitara, Taranaki.

My mother - Maraea Te Iritawa Taiapa has been my biggest supporter and inspiration. She says I have inherited my weaving skills from our tupuna and that I look like my great grandmother, whom my mother was named after as well.

Because I live around the corner from Kuia Whero Bailey I have been fortunate to have her expert guidance and advice.

I have also been studying Toi Paematua Raranga, coming to the end of my third year with tutor Kim Kahu at Te Wananga O Aotearoa,
