"Waharoa is a representation of Maori artistic expression in sculpture, painting and fibre.

The exhibition in the Rotorua Convention Centre will serve as a Waharoa (gateway) to visitors passing through to other festival performances.

It will articlutate the contemporary Maori society, embracing its traditions in a seamless pageant of the uniqueness and authenticity of tangata whenua - people of the land."

Waharoa will be held at the Rotorua Convention Centre, 1170 Fenton Street, Rotorua as a part of the Rotorua Festival of Arts Te Ihi Te Wehi 2005. Admission free; works available for purchase.

The exhibition will be curated and coordinated by Te Atinga member and Rotorua artist June Grant.
