Traditionally a Kapa Haka performance festival, this year the Te Matatini Festival is expanding to include a wide range of community, culture, art, music and youth activities.

Toi Maori Aotearoa will be joining this prestigious festival to present artist demonstrations, in the media of whakairo (carving), raranga (weaving) and ta moko (tattooing); creating traditional and contemporary artworks that relate to traditional Maori performing arts.

There will be an Exhibition of Maori Art featuring works by emerging and established artists from around the country.

For detailed Festival information, and to attend Te Matatini, please visit their website.

Tickets cost $22.00 per day or $75.00 for the duration of the Festival. Reserved tickets can be purchased from NZ Post Shops.
