On The Bus

Contemporary Maori Writers on Tour

DateVenueCityCountryDuration

Wowing audiences with entertaining and stunning performances by poets, fiction writers, playwrights and storytellers, the On the Bus tour travels each year to a different region of New Zealand.

Now the 2007 travelling band of writers will tour to Christchurch in the South Island and will include a programme alongside The Eternal Thread exhibition of Maori weaving at Christchurch Art Gallery.

In 2007, the group of Maori writers will visit communities, schools, libraries and art galleries. Confirmed touring writers are Hinemoana Baker, James George, Kelly Ana Morey and Apirana Taylor.

Make a note in your diary as the On the Bus tour is a great way to catch hot writing talent and find out more about Maori literature and the people behind the stories.

This event is presented by Te Ha and Nga Pou Kaituhi Maori committees, and receives funding from Te Waka Toi, the Maori Arts Board of Creative New Zealand.
