This wananga will focus on basic first aid training and also concentrated floatation water safety as part of essential training for key Kaupapa Waka personnel.

Facilitated by St. John's Ambulance Service Bay of Islands, 30 senior kaihoe and kaihautu will be participating in the wananga hosted at Te Toka Whakakotahi Marae at the Bay of Islands College in Kawakawa.

The weekend activities will also cover haka and waka activity at English Bay, Opua.
