Toi Maori: The Eternal Thread will be welcomed at the Hallie Ford Museum of Art at Willamette University with a Procession of Nations across the college campus on September 23, 2005, to include representatives from the First Nations of Oregon as well as other governmental dignitaries.
The exhibition will be open to the public from September 24 to December 24, 2005, and visiting Maori weavers will be hosted by university groups as well as the neighboring tribal confederations of the Grand Ronde and the Siletz.
The Eternal Thread will coincide with the annual Northwest Native American Basketweavers gathering, a hui for over 250 regional weavers from many native nations, where Maori weavers will be warmly welcomed.
