How does our organisation work?
Toi Maori Aotearoa's background, and the vision, mission, objectives and goals that underlie all of our activities.
Background
Toi Maori is a Charitable Trust created from the need for a collective artists' forum to foster the development of Maori arts. It is supported by Creative New Zealand through Te Waka Toi and is comprised of a national network of contemporary Maori artists.
A governing board comprising Kaitiaki nominated by the ten National Artform Committees attends to governance issues. The General Manager and representatives of the ten committees form the Toi Maori Management Team which implements the overall programme of activities.

Our Mission - Te Whakato
Toi Maori serves as the vehicle for the development and promulgation of all forms of contemporary Maori art. It provides advocacy for Maori art and artists. It promotes the growing audience for Maori arts and argues the uniqueness, quality and integrity of Maori arts.
